Jeff Bradley

Jeff Bradley and wife Nancy, who is also a LifeCycles volunteer, were born and raised in Lancaster County. Jeff, a retired Hempfield High School mathematic teacher, was an avid runner for many years for until his knees began to creak, at which time, he turned to the bicycle. Nancy and Jeff worked together to bicycle across the United States in 2010, up the East Coast in 2012, and finally from Vancouver BC to San Diego CA along the West Coast in 2015. Besides riding with the boys, he coaches cross-country at Hempfield HS, tutors mathematics, volunteers at First United Methodist in Lancaster, loves to travel and play golf, and enjoys having “Abba Days” with his grandchildren.

Get to Know Jeff

If I could cycle anywhere in the world, it would be in…
A long, macadam paved, tree-shaded trail with the wind at my back

The person who most inspired me as a young man was…
My former pastor Kent Kroehler who bicycled across the US and planted the seed in my mind

My best teenage memory is…
Running miles and miles and miles

I am famous for…
I was a four-time All-American Cross-Country runner in college, placed in the top 100 in the Boston Marathon twice, coached a state championship track and field team, and married the most special gal.

My most embarrassing cycling moment was…
Stopping at an intersection and being unable to unclip my shoes from the pedal. Crash!!!

My hidden talent is…
I make nasty pancakes.

If I could change something in my past it would be…
Riding my bicycle at an earlier age
